When does Registry Services send EPP messages?

Updated 11 Jul, 2023

Each registrar has its own message queue on our respective EPP servers.

Registry Services will put messages in that queue for any changes made by Registry Services that the registrar themselves did not request via EPP.

Such messages are not included in EPP RFCs. Therefore, we have implemented the following extensions:

<iis: createNotify />, <iis: updateNotify />, <iis:deleteNotify /> and <iis: transferNotify />

The notifications that Registry Services sends can be found in the EPP documentation (available under Downloads).

The most common occasions when a notification message will be sent are, for example, upon deactivation and deregistration, as well as when changing registrars (a transferNotify is sent to the leaving registrar).
